White Glove Carrier
A white-glove carrier is an independent contractor or owner-operator specializing in big and bulky last-mile delivery services, including assembly and installation, on a contract basis. These carriers often collaborate with multiple clients or logistics companies, leveraging their expertise to deliver premium service and ensure customer satisfaction.
Example
A furniture retailer partners with a white-glove carrier who is trained to assemble and install the products they deliver. The independent contractor is responsible for providing final mile delivery, in-home setup, and assembly services for the retailer's customers, ensuring each delivery meets the retailer's high standards for quality and customer satisfaction.
